"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matt. 6:21).
Giving is best viewed as a part of our worship to the Lord. We get to take part in the great joy of being a cheerful giver. In light of what Christ has done for us, why would we not want to give Him our best?
Southstone Church continues to organize recovery support for our Hill Country neighbors affected by the devastating flood. This includes:
- Developing working partnerships with churches in the affected areas
- Distributing funds through these partner churches to the areas of need. To-date, $20,000 has been donated by the Southstone family.
- Directly reaching out to support Southstone families affected by the flood
How you can help:
- Pray for the families who have suffered great loss, and pray for the recovery teams who are serving so faithfully.
- You can support the recovery efforts by donating through the button below. Use the "Disaster Relief" tab on the pull-down menu to designate your gift to this purpose. Please note that the area is not ready to receive gifts like clothing or furniture. Financial gifts are the best way to support recovery at this time.
- Look for more information in the weeks ahead on how you can continue to support the recovery effort. We will update as we have more information and direction from the field.

First Things First
The first belongs to God. We find this principle all through God's Word. Tithing, giving God the first ten percent of our income to the local church, is the primary way we acknowledge that God is first. (Proverbs 3:9,10)
Know Giving, Know Life
Giving is the antidote for materialism. Whereas the tithe is giving ten percent of your income to the local church, an offering is given out of the ninety percent of your income. Therefore the offering is giving over and above the tithe. The Bible says that by giving generously we are able to "take hold of the life that is truly life." You aren't really living unless you are freely giving. (I Timothy 6:18,19)
The Treasure Test
Giving is the only area in the Bible where God invites us to test Him. Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income) to God and see if He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you in ways that you never dreamed possible. (Malachi 3:10)
An Eternal Investment
Even when the stock market's down, you can make an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime and beyond. By investing in the life-changing message of Jesus, you can leverage your money for eternal purposes. (I Timothy 6:7)
