Pastor Jason Robinson

Pastor Jason is deeply passionate about Jesus, family, and people, and he brings that passion into everything he does. Known for his authenticity, warmth, and genuine care for others, his approach to life and ministry is both welcoming and inspiring. Jason is a gifted communicator with a heart for helping people discover their God given purpose. His journey in ministry began in 2001 at Church of the King in Mandeville, LA, where he served in a variety of leadership roles for 15 years, investing in teams, families, and the next generation.

In 2015, after much prayer and with the blessing of their pastors and mentors, Jason and Stephanie followed God’s call to Katy, Texas, to plant what is now Southstone Church. A thriving, Christ centered community focused on reaching the lost, building life giving relationships, and creating spiritual family.

Jason and Stephanie have been married since 1998 and have built their life together on faith, love, and a lot of laughter. They are the proud parents of four amazing children and two amazing sons-in-law. Mia (Hunter), Trent, Ella (Cole), and Elise who continue to be one of their greatest joys. Jason treasures time spent together with his family, date nights with Stephanie, and cheering on his favorite football team (go Saints!). Above everything else, his deepest passion is seeing lives transformed through faith, connection, and the hope found in Jesus.

Meet Stephanie Robinson

Stephanie loves spending time with their children, exercising, walking their dogs and just being outside. She describes herself as “a walking Hallmark card.” She will laugh with you and she will cry with you, but mostly, she will make you feel loved. Relationships are especially important to her and she values quality time with family and friends. Her passion is to encourage women to become Godly women, wives, moms, and friends.

Our Story

January of 2014

With a growing student ministry at an incredible local church, Jason and Stephanie Robinson began to feel God speak to their hearts about planting a new life-giving church. They both sensed God beginning to place a new assignment in their hearts. Therefore, they met with their senior pastors for counsel and direction.

Their pastors recognized and supported God’s call for Jason and Stephanie to plant a new church. As they continued to serve as student ministry pastors at Church of the King in Mandeville, Louisiana, Jason and Stephanie trusted God’s perfect timing in planting the new church. With the full blessing of their pastor, they began to feel the timing was right to embark on this God-given assignment.

January of 2015

Jason and Stephanie attended an intensive training and screening process with the Association of Related Churches in Birmingham, Alabama, also known as the ARC. Since its inception in 2000, the ARC has helped to start hundreds of churches with a 94% success rate.

After a few visits to Texas, they knew that Katy was the place that they would call home. With a vision from God, the full support of their pastors, it was time to get moving! God was at work assembling His team. People from around the country and local people who had been praying for a church in Katy were sensing God calling them to join the team.

January 17th, 2016

Church of the King was launched with 340 people in attendance.

Since that first Sunday at Beckendorff Junior High School we’ve experienced countless stories of lives changed, marriages restored, and people finding new life in Christ. In 2017 we went to two services and by the end of the year, we had already found a location for our permanent home where we broke ground in October 2019.

We are thrilled to see God do even greater things in the years to come! Securing our first permanent home has increased our ability to reach the city of Katy and ultimately enable us to launch multiple campuses throughout the greater Houston area.
